Join more than 1,000 animal advocates and their four-legged friends for Washington’s biggest dog walk ~ the 27th annual Dog-A-Thon! For twenty-seven years, the Humane Society for Tacoma & Pierce County has hosted the Dog-A-Thon, a pet celebration and pledge walk that raises funds for food, shelter, veterinary care, rehabilitation from cruelty and services for thousands of shelter pets.

This year’s fun event is presented by Larson Automotive Group. Dog-A-Thon, has something special for everyone. From scenic trail walks and microchipping to a Doggie Wet TShirt Contest, Adoptable Pet Parade, and working dog demonstrations, this is the premier pet event of the South Sound. According to Shelby Taylor the Marketing and events Manager, “Come to event and you won’t be able to stop smiling! From dogs strutting around in costume to professional pooches who are in the business of herding ducks, there’s magic in the air when experiencing the Dog-A-Thon”.

In 2016, the Humane Society’s Annual Walk for Pets in Need brought in more than $271,110. Best of all these funds helped the shelter find loving homes for more than 6,000 pets, reuniting thousands more with their owners, and provide enrichment activities for shelter animals during their stay.
