10 Days of Spooktacular Fun!

This year, from October 23 to November 1, the Hands On Children’s Museum is hosting it’s beloved Halloween-inspired Boo Bash Festival! The Boo Bash will be ten days long instead of the usual three days, in order to allow more families to have a chance to participate. About 35 families will be admitted to the Museum during each two-hour session, and reservations must be made online in advance. To accommodate everyone comfortably, the Museum has also added a fourth visitation window per day on weekends.

The Boo Bash is beloved by children every year, and this year will be no different! Reserve a spot at the Museum to enjoy the seasonal celebration where children can explore a straw bale maze, press apples into cider, watch freaky experiments by Dr. Science, decorate a mini pumpkin and float it in the pumpkin regatta, learn to paint under black light, silkscreen print a tote bag, and snap a family selfie in the haunted photo booth, along with many other themed activities. All activities will be held indoors or in the spacious Outdoor Discovery Center. The Festival is designed to be fun “without the fright,” and is free with Museum admission or membership!

“We know this has been a tough year for everyone, but it’s been especially difficult for young children who learn best through unstructured play and in-person interaction,” said Patty Belmonte, Hands On CEO. “With many schools online and Halloween activities scaled back, we want to provide a safe way for families to learn together while celebrating the season.”

The Museum reopened to the public in August with significant operational changes to ensure safe play and learning. For now, play sessions are limited to two hours long, and online reservations are required before coming to the Museum. Face coverings are required for all visitors ages 5 and older and strongly recommended for children ages 2-4. The Museum closes between each 2-hour session for deep cleaning and props sanitizing. Rentals are still available, though, as family groups of up to 10 people can rent the Museum after hours for Personal Play Dates to celebrate a special event or to enjoy the Museum on their own!
