 Four Freshmen SPSCC Jazz Series

Kenneth J. Minnaert Center for the Arts Main stage

April 10, 2016 – 5:00pm

The Four Freshmen are among America’s most enduring vocal groups. The jazz quartet will bring their acapella flavor to jazz classics and standards on Sunday, April 10 as part of the South Puget Sound Community College Jazz Series. The concert takes place at 5 p.m. in the Kenneth J. Minnaert Center for the Arts Main Stage. The SPSCC Jazz Big Band will open the concert.

Headlining concerts around the globe since 1948, their repertoire includes a variety of pop and jazz standards from the Great American Songbook standards. The current Four Freshmen lineup (Tommy Boynton, Curtis Calderon, Stein Malvey, and Bob Ferreira) combines youth, vitality, talent, and elegance to create an unmistakable sound.

Tickets are $35 for general admission and $30 for seniors and military members with ID. Tickets for non-SPSCC students are $10, and the event is free to SPSCC students, staff and faculty. A special VIP reception and after-party package is available for $75, which includes the concert, drinks, appetizers, and a meet-and-greet with the group after the performance. The reception will take place in the Minnaert Center Black Box Theater. Tickets will be available online at, and more information about the SPSCC Jazz Series is available online at

Each year, the jazz program at SPSCC teams up with professionals from around the region and country. SPSCC students get to work with professional jazz musicians during the day, then team up for a joint concert in the evening.
