The collections of Donna Karan, Michael Kors, Charlotte Ronson and more are flooded with water-inspired pieces for the spring season. Models walk the runways in hues of blue, green and tan that allude to the inspiration, while some designers have chosen a more literal translation with pool and beach prints. Fluid and flowing silhouettes also pay homage to the aquatic influence by mimicking the movements of the water.
Other designers turn to more geometric influence with an abundance of stripes. Stripes are on trend for both women and men during this season. Marc Jacobs, Oscar de la Renta and Tommy Hilfiger are using stripes of various sizes, colors, and directions. They are seen on garments ranging from cocktail dresses and gowns to suits and more casual attire.
A timeless fashion staple will also be prominent this spring – the full skirt. Donna Karan, Vera Wang and Reem Acra have displayed full skirts with hems ranging from above the knee to mid-calf length. The flattering silhouette can be dressed up with a blazer, or down with a simple tee or tank, to be worn for a variety of occasions.
Including a document clutch in your purchases for this season will be a worthwhile investment. Use it during the day to conceal your Kindle, iPad or small laptop, then convert it into your evening accessory to hold the contents of your wallet and cellphone.
Men, add some excitement to your look with bold pops of colored accessories. Boost your everyday look by mixing traditional neutrals with bright watches, colored shoelaces or vivid ties. This look is especially statement-worthy when pairing primary colors with whites.
Add a few new pieces to brighten and awaken your spring wardrobe.
