Classic car aficionados, mark your calendars for this coming weekend to welcome a new exhibit at Lemay- America’s Car Museum! Thanks to Oregon collectors Alex and Amy Haugland, AMC is opening a stunning exhibit of classic European automobiles to the public this week. The exhibit features 11 extraordinary automobiles from the 1930s to the 1970s, drawn from the Hauglands’ collection of more than 130 vehicles – all of which are running cars that are driven on frequent journeys.
Among the cars selected for the exhibit are a 1938 Bentley Saloon, a 1959 Fiat-Abarth 750 Zagato, a 1959 Lotus, a 1962 Ferrari 250 GTE, and a 1970 Alfa Romeo Montreal.
The Hauglands were recently selected as the recipients of ACM’s “Master Collector” award. This award is given each year to outstanding collectors for their lifelong stewardship and commitment to preserving the heritage, artistry, and appreciation of prestigious automobiles.
The exhibit is among several new additions to the Museum’s lineup, including a collection of locally owned Ferraris and the cars of famed racer and manufacturer Steve Saleen. The Museum had been closed during Washington State’s COVID-19-related mandate, but it has recently reopened with limited hours. Visitors are welcome Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m!
